Over years of experience and books I've developed a system to help businesses beat their competition.

From Tax Specialist To Growth Accountant

Trained At Price Waterhouse

I trained with Pricewaterhouse in Windsor, where I developed a strong technical foundation in professional accountancy within a highly structured and demanding environment. Working alongside experienced practitioners gave me early exposure to complex client situations and high standards of delivery.

My specialist focus was expatriate tax planning, supporting individuals and businesses navigating the challenges of working across borders. This early specialism sharpened my attention to detail and gave me a deep understanding of how numbers, strategy and people intersect.

Set Up My Own Business At 25

At the age of 25, I set up my own accountancy business, initially working from home with a clear vision of building something sustainable and client-focused. Those early years were hands-on, fast-moving and invaluable in teaching me what business ownership really involves.

As the firm grew, I moved into a secondary high street location and took on my first employee. Over time, the practice expanded to support more than 300 businesses, giving me first-hand experience of growth, leadership and the realities faced by business owners at every stage.

A Journey Into Software

My curiosity about systems and scalability led me into software development. I merged my accountancy firm with a high street practice and became their Marketing Director, deliberately creating space to spend two to three days a week developing and exploring a new software programme.

That programme went on to be licensed by over 250 accountancy firms and used by more than 10,000 business owners. This journey gave me a rare perspective, sitting at the intersection of accountancy, marketing, technology and commercial growth.

A Google Coach

As a direct result of my work in software, I was invited to become a Google Coach on their Accelerator Programme. Importantly, this wasn’t in my capacity as an accountant, but as a sales mentor working with ambitious founders and leadership teams.

This role further broadened my experience, allowing me to work with high-growth businesses and refine how strategy, sales and mindset combine to drive performance. It also reinforced my belief that numbers only truly matter when they support better decisions.

The Improving The Numbers™ Method

Over time, I brought everything I had learned together into a single framework: the Improving the Numbers™ Method. It draws on my background in accountancy, business ownership, software, sales and coaching.

The method is delivered through a structured series of workshops and forms the foundation of everything I do. It’s practical, commercial and designed to help business owners truly understand their numbers, and use them to create momentum.
